A year in review - 2021!

2021 has, like for so many others, been full of challenges and often tough times but there have also been some wonderful memories over the last year.

At Wee Critters we have had another busy year meeting so many little explorer's over zoom, at their schools, groups, birthdays and events.

The Wee Critter's family has continued to grow and thrive. We welcomed new species including Ozzie the New Caledonia giant gecko, Bluey the blue-tongued skink, Bazza the black headed python, Angelo the Angolan python, Pepper the barn owl, Pee Wee the Pacific parrotlet, Fraggle the common tenrec, Malaysian leaf catydids, jungle nymph and giant walking stick insects. (some of which we are yet to introduce!)

We also welcomed the first ever Southern three-banded armadillo to be born in our wee country, twin Northern Luzon slender-tailed cloud rats and a number of harvest mice. It has been fantastic welcoming these very special new arrivals to our family.

At Wee critters we believe that collaboration is key to help spread the important message about conservation and sustainability. We were therefore very excited to become members of the International Zoo Educators Association, partners with Eco-schools Northern Ireland and also carried out training to become a JAM friendly business.

We also continued to support our chosen charities by donating monthly to the Red panda network, sponsoring 50 acres of land in Borneo to support the Orangutan Foundation and donated to the World Land Trust.
